Mad Scientists Loose in the Kitchen: Discover the amazing chemical phenomena happening in your pantries and refrigerators. Explore sundry savory science! Grades PreK-K

It’s a Bug’s Life: Explore the world of creepy crawlies, butterflies, and ladybugs. Design an ant farm, dance like a bumblebee, and enjoy more creative activities! Grades PreK-K

Carve, Model, and Create: Sculpt using such diverse media as clay, fabric, wood, and wire. Experiment with various techniques to create 3-D masterpieces. Grades 1-8

Math Puzzles and Strategies: Explore, ponder, and utilize strategies for solving various puzzles, such as tangrams, Sudoku, codes, logic puzzles, and 3-D cube puzzles. Create your own puzzles to perplex your peers! Grades 1-8

Creative Writing: Could paintings, posters, films, magazines, and books inspire you to compose stories and poems? Respond to a variety of imaginative, creative catalysts by writing free verse and stories of adventure, fantasy, biographical fiction, fractured fairy tales, and mysteries. See your work published in our magazine. Grades 1-8

Lego Mindstorms Robotics: Apply engineer ing principles to create an autonomous robot using motors, gears, and sensors. Program your robot to complete challenges of increasing complexity. ($10 lab fee) Grades 3-8

Crazy Chemical Combinations: Concoct your own strange brews and cause fascinating> chemical reactions. Experiment with acids, bases, liquids and powders. Grades 1-4

Chess Club: Analyze winning strategies, from opening schemes to end-game tactics. In corporate them into your own chess games and watch your skills improve! Grades 1-6

Creating Games from Scratch: Learn how to program computer games in Scratch! Create a wide variety of games, from simple to complex. Grades 3-8

Biological Explorations: Investigate the natural world from a hands-on perspective, from close observation of live specimens to dissection of owl pellets. Grades 3-8

Theater Club: Experience the exhilarating world of live theater! Develop characters as you play theater games, rehearse skits, and perform for family and friends. Grades 1-8

Chocolate-Ology: How did the little cocoa bean become the world’s favorite culinary delight? Unravel the origins and history of chocolate. Experiment with recipes and conduct taste tests. Grades 1-4
