Discover topics and problems rarely found in a traditional classroom!

Courses for Students Entering PreK and Kindergarten

Students enjoy the following two classes every morning:

Commotion in the Ocean: Set off on an underwater adventure! Explore literature to showcase fascinating attributes of our vast oceans. Swim across the world to discover intriguing sea creatures, follow migration patterns, and visit coral reefs.

Soaking up Science: Swish, squish, and splash as you experiment with everyday items to understand better the world we live in. Learn how to use the scientific process to find answers to perplexing questions.

Courses for Students Entering Grades 1 - 8

Students enjoy three classes every morning, chosen from the following:

Going Very Green! Create a compost system to enrich the soil in your own garden at home. . . while using red wiggler worms! This class will foster your love for the environment and allow you plenty of time outside, all while getting your hands good and dirty! Grades 1-8

Combustion and Pyrotechnics: Investigate physical forces and chemical combinations that tend to flare, fizzle, spark, and occasionally explode. Grades 4-8

Drawing from Inside Out and Upside Down: How do you draw what you see? Train your eyes to perceive accurately shapes, relationships, perspectives, and value shading. Grades 1-8

LEGO Robotics I: Engineer and program Mindstorms robots to solve challenges using gears, motors, sensors, and computers. ($10 lab fee) Grades 3-8

LEGO Robotics II: Work with other advanced students to strategize, design, program, and race your robots. ($10 lab fee) Grades 4-8

Creative Writing: Could posters, paintings, poetry? Be published in our magazine. Grades 1-8
