Math Rocks! Explore "out-of-the-box" math topics, such
as math and visual arts, "Eureka!" moments in math,
cultural math, math analysis, and more during the first

The Chemical Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: Join
the famous sleuth and his sidekick Dr. Watson in solving
modern tales inspired by the stories of Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle. These new tales specifically engage the chemical
expertise of the detective (and the student). Begin each
session reading the first part of the case. Propose some
possible chemical investigations in order to solve it, and
perform the proposed chemical tests. Then compare your

If It Flies, We'll Build It! Build and launch your own
space shuttle glider, exotic paper airplanes, and 2-liter
Bottle Rocket. Explore the history of flight, including a
comprehensive look at space exploration from equipment
and personnel that got America to the moon in 1969 to

Computer Design and Animation: Explore Adobe
Creative Suite as you learn to manipulate images,
create vector drawings, and develop Flash

World War II, 1937-1945: Represent the leaders
of many of the countries that fought World War II.
Re-enact the principal decisions of the war, from
the Japanese invasion of China in 1937 and the
German invasion of Poland in 1939 to their un
conditional surrender in 1945, using large flat
maps and miniature military figures. Then re-fight
the war, making your own strategic decisions in a
large-scale board game similar to Axis and Allies. Instructor: Christopher Freeman
Philosophy Café: Join a discussion using games,
focus materials, and Socratic dialogue to explore
the world and our place in it. Use reasoning,
questions, discourse, and reflection, while at the
same time learning about great ethical and
philosophical ideas. Instructor: Robin Harragin
Electronics and Robotics Lab: Construct various
projects such as photophobic bugs, traffic lights,
electronic games, siren, dice, and robots. Solder
and assemble circuit boards, decipher technical
instructions and read schematic diagrams as you
progress at your own pace and level through

Filmmaking I: Explore science and mechanics of
filmmaking with 16mm film and camera equipment,
including a Bolex camera and a Sekonic light
meter. Work with peers on film crews to create

creative process of observing and designing 3-D
works of art, form, and space in a 2-D drawing. With
