Pulleys, Levers, and Gears: Construct your own machines! Explore the laws of physics through hands-on experiments with simple machines. Grades PreK-K

Winter Zoology: How do animals stay safe and warm in winter? Investigate the options of furry and feathered friends. Grades PreK-K

Fairy Tale Festival: Imagine, dramatize, and illustrate! Investigate fantastic places, crea tures, and characters. How might you create your own fairy tale? Grades PreK-K

Lego WeDo Robotics: Build robots, such as an alligator, with Legos, motors, gears, and sensors. Program your robots using a computer. ($10 lab fee) Grades 1-3

Lego Mindstorms Robotics: Create an auto nomous robot using motors, gears, and sensors. Program it to complete challenges of increasing complexity. ($10 lab fee) Grades 3-8

Edible Literature--Reading and Writing: Nibble your way through new stories and old tales with imagination, creativity, and originality. Explore tasty literature through hands-on cooking escapades and respond by writing your own stories and poems. Grades 1-4

Online Journalism: Become a news reporter or features writer, a columnist or arts critic. Work with a journalist to write and edit your own articles, then publish them online! Grades 4-8

Science Experiments with Toys: Discover mystery eggs, burping bottles and crushing cans. Explore the science of toys via hands-on fun and experiments. Grades 1-2

Introduction to Calculus: What is calculus? Learn many basic ideas of calculus through the careful study of sequences and their difference sequences. Grades 5-8

Microbiology: Delve into the unseen world, collect samples, and grow gardens of bacteria and fungi. Learn to use a microscope and prepare slides of your creatures. ($20 lab fee) Grades 3-8

Chemical Concoctions: Investigate chemical properties via hands-on experiments with solutions and reactants. Identify mystery powders and secret ingredients. Cause fascinating chemical reactions! Grades 3-8

Math Games and Strategies: Discover the power of logical reasoning via math games. Analyze each game to discover mathematical insights and winning strategies. Grades 1-4

Art Miscellanea: Delve into a different art form each Sunday. Try your hand at sculpture, drawing, printmaking, painting, and more! Grades 1-8

Dynamic Dramatics: Is the stage calling your name? Play theater games, bring stories to life, and act out different characters. Perform for family and friends! Grades 1-4

Persuasive Speaking: Would you like to convince your parents or give dynamic class presentations? Explore basic principles of debate. Enjoy a tongue twister contest and speech charades! Grades 5-8

Chess Club: Analyze winning strategies, from opening schemes to end-game tactics. Incorporate them into your own chess games and watch your skills improve! Grades 1-6

Creating Games from Scratch: Learn how to program computer games in Scratch, developed at MIT and used to create a wide variety of games, from simple to complex. Grades 3-8

Workshops for Grades 5-8

Historic Games of Strategy and Diplomacy: Re-enact history through games of strategy. Expand empires through 4000 years of History of the World or fight World War II in Axis and Allies. Lay iron track and establish railroad networks in Eurorails, India Rails, etc.

Electronics and Robotics Lab: Construct photophobic bugs, electronic games and dice, traffic lights, sirens, and/or robots. Solder and assemble circuit boards, decipher technical instructions, and read schematic diagrams as you progress at your own pace through projects of increasing difficulty and complexity.
