PreK and Kindergarten - Students will enjoy the following two 75-minute courses every Sunday:



Ocean Explorers: Sail the ocean blue! Visit islands around the globe, investigate tidal pools, scuba dive around coral reefs, and discover the briny deep through scientific, creative, fun activities.
Math Meets Literature: Discover math concepts in beautifully illustrated picture books. Investigate them through hands-on activities in a creative, interdisciplinary approach to math

1st - 8th Grade Courses (as indicated) - Students enrolling in two 75-minute courses choose from the following:

Creative Writing: Compose stories and poetry inspired by posters, paintings, films, books, etc. Be published in your class magazine. Grades 1-8
Harry Potter-Ology: Immerse yourself in a �Wizarding World.� Be sorted into a house, formulate spells, play quiddich, concoct strange potions, and create your own wand. Try butterbeer and wizard candy! Grades 3-8
Balloons, Pulleys, Levers, and Gears: Create your own machines, invent mechanical toys, explore the laws of physics, and test the laws of fun! Grades 1-2
Physical Prestidigitations: Imagine becoming Galileo performing the first experiment on gravity or an astronomer calculating the distance to the Moon. Focus on historical physics and astronomy investi- gations, concluding with scientific messing around in Vito's Block Museum. (This class is for the mathematically inclined.) Grades 4-8
Candy Lab: Experiment with the art of making candy, such as chocolate lollipops, candy drops, candy sticks, gummy shapes, cream gummies, caramels, vanilla fudge, marshmallows, and licorice. Investigate taste biology (taste receptor cells and taste buds) and taste chemistry (molecules, carbohydrates, and super- saturated solutions). Explore the science behind how candy forms and why it tastes so good. Grades 3-6
Math Around the World: Embark on a global mathematical tour! Count with Mayan numerals and Egyptian hieroglyphs. Explore African networks and sand drawings. Discover math in folktales. Grades 1-3
Chess Club: Explore various strategies, openings, and end games. All chess enthusiasts welcome! Grades 1-6
Art Unlimited: Does art ignite creativity in you? Create multi-dimensional masterpieces of mixed media, methods, and muses. Grades 1-8
Introduction to Lego Robotics: Engineer and program robots to solve challenges using gears, motors, sensors, and computers. ($10 lab fee) Grades 3-8
Lego Robotics Competition: Join with other advanced students to strategize, design, program, and ultimately race your robots. (Prerequisite: at least one Lego Robotics course.) ($10 lab fee) Grades 3-8
Computer Lab: Design your own computer game. Use interactive animation and hyperlinks, coupled with slide transitions, effects, and timing. Play your game on any computer. Grades 3-8


Workshops for Grades 5 - 10 - Students enrolling in a two and one-half hour workshop will choose from the following:

Historic Games of Strategy and Diplomacy: Re-enact history through games of strategy. Expand empires through 4,000 years of History of the World; invade Brittania; lay iron track across the prairie as an Empire Builder or across Europe in Eurorails; fight World War II in Axis and Allies. Fight past wars to prevent them in the future. Grades 5-10
Electronics and Robotics Lab: Explore electronic components and learn basic circuitry while constructing various projects from, sirens to dice to robots! Learn to solder, decipher technical instructions, assemble circuit boards, and read schematic diagrams. ($60 lab fee) Grades 5-10
