PreK and Kindergarten - Students will enjoy the following three 50-minute courses every Sunday:



Science Spies: Conduct hands-on lab investigations to uncover hidden principles of sundry motions and potions.
How to Measure an Elephant: Discover the math, science, and fun of calculating sizes, shapes, and volumes of things, from the ordinary to the very weird!
Tall Tales, Small Tales: Imagine, create, construct, and dramatize as you journey through and around wild things and amazing places in literature and in your own imagination.

1st - 8th Grade Courses (as indicated) - Students enrolling in two 75-minute courses choose from the following:

Creative Writing: Compose stories and poetry in- spired by posters, paintings, films, books, etc. Be published in your class magazine. Grades 1-8
Medieval Times: Investigate the age of castles, knights, and flying unicorns. Build a castle, design your coat of arms, throw a feast . . . and don't forget to feed your dragon! Grades 1-4
Harry Potter-Ology: Immerse yourself in a �Wizarding World.� Be sorted into a house, formulate spells, play quiddich, concoct strange potions, and create your own wand. Try butterbeer and wizard candy! Grades 3-8
Lego WeDo Robotics: Build robots, including an alligator robot, with Legos, motors, gears, and sensors. Program your robots using a computer. Explore principles of engineering. ($10 lab fee) Grades 1-2
Lego Mindstorms Robotics: Design and build computerized robots! Discover their capabilities as you experiment with engineering and programming solutions to solve daily challenges. ($10 lab fee) Grades 3-8
Lego Robotics Competition: Join with other ad- vanced Lego robotics students to strategize, design, program, and ultimately race your robots. (Prerequisite: at least one Lego Mindstorms Robotics course.) ($10 lab fee) Grades 3-8
Sculpture Studio: Create, shape, mold, and model your ideas into 3-D masterpieces of such diverse media as clay, fabric, wood, and wire. Grades 1-8
Math to Boggle the Brain: Tackle logic puzzles, solve sequencing secrets, ponder math riddles, and create your own mind-bogglers. Grades 1-4
Physical Prestidigitations: Imagine becoming Galileo performing the first experiment on gravity or an astronomer calculating the distance to the Moon. Focus on historical physics and astronomy investi- gations, concluding with scientific messing around in Vito's Block Museum. (This class is for the mathematically inclined.) Grades 4-8
Computer Game Design: Intro to Scratch: Learn to program in Scratch as you explore different design options and create your own computer game. Grades 3-8
Advanced Programming in Scratch: Build on earlier programming knowledge to create more sophisticated games using Scratch. (Prerequisite: at least one programming class in Scratch.) Grades 3-8
Chess Club: Explore exciting strategies, sneaky openings, and skillful end games. All chess enthusiasts welcome! Grades 1-6
Drama, Music, and Art: Collaborate to create a play, compose music, and design sets. Allow your creativity to join with others as you act, sing, and paint! Grades 1-8


Workshops for Grades 5 - 10 - Students enrolling in a two and one-half hour workshop will choose from the following:

Historic Games of Strategy and Diplomacy: Re-enact history through games of strategy. Expand empires through 4,000 years of History of the World; invade Brittania; lay iron track across the prairie as an Empire Builder or across Europe in Eurorails; fight World War II in Axis and Allies. Fight past wars to prevent them in the future. Grades 5-10
Electronics and Robotics Lab: Explore electronic components and learn basic circuitry while con- structing various projects, from sirens to dice to robots! Learn to solder, decipher technical instructions, assemble circuit boards, and read schematic diagrams. ($60 lab fee) Grades 5-10
