| Wonder Adventures: Explore new wonders in nature and science. Put imagination and stories together, your own and those of published authors. Design, invent, dramatize, and create through hands-on activities. Delight in the excitement of learning through an interdisciplinary approach integrating science, literature, math, history, art, and drama. Grades PreK-K |
| Wild, Weird, and Woolly: Imagine and create, write and illustrate, even dramatize and try out reader's theater as you rejoice in wild things, brave characters, and fantastic places in literature and dancing around in your whimsical head. Grades 1-2 |
| Creative Writing: Do you like to write and see yourself published in a creative writing magazine? Could posters, paintings, films, discussions, and books invite and inspire you to write stories, poetry, and interpretive responses? Grades 2-6 |
| 3-D Math: Build polyhedra of all shapes and sizes, from the simple tetrahedron to the complex rhombicosidodecahedron. Experiment with different building materials. Construct a kite or an intricate kaleidoscope. Grades 1-6 |
| Detective Science: Can you solve the case of the missing teddy bear? Whet your sleuthing skills, dauntless detectives, and begin the investigation! Grades 1-2 |
| Crime Lab Chemistry: Reconstruct the crime scene; examine the clues; analyze the evidence using modern forensics, chemistry, and biology, then determine who (most likely) committed the crime. Employ your chemical expertise and deductive reasoning skills to piece together the sequence of events. Does the evidence prove your hypothesis? Will it hold up in court? Can you at least convince your peers? Grades 3-6 |
| Computer Games Lab I: What makes a fun, exciting computer game? Explore different design options, as you program in Scratch to create your own computer games. Play each other's games in a cyberspace tournament. Grades 2-6 |
| Computer Games Lab II: Have you already programmed in Scratch? Do you have great game design ideas you would like to pursue? Advance from your current base of knowledge to create more sophisticated games. Play each other's games in a cyberspace tournament. Grades 3-6 |
| Robotics and Engineering I: Construct a sound-activated robot and experiment with its different modes of movement. Which is the fastest? Is that also the most reliable? Explore elements of engineering and design. $30 lab fee. Grades 3-4 |
| Robotics and Engineering II: Construct a robotic arm and experiment with its capabilities using its five switch wired controller, five motors, and five joints. Explore elements of engineering and design. $45 lab fee. Grades 5-6 |
| LEGO Robotics I: Employ engineering, math, programming, and technology to design and create computerized robots with LEGO Mindstorms. Learn how to add gears, sensors, and motors to make your robot faster, smarter, trickier, or more industrious. Solve daily challenges utilizing newly acquired programming skills. $10 lab fee. | The Fine Art of Drawing: Can you draw what your mind sees? Learn to view the world in a new way using line, shape, form, perspective, proportion, shading and composition. Draw with pencil, charcoal, ink and watercolor. Try your hand at still-life, figure drawing, gesture, and contour drawing. Grades 1-6 |
